Here’s yet another unlicensed Sonic the Hedgehog bootleg. This time it’s for the original Game Boy and it’s called Sonic 3D Blast 5. It comes on a 32 in 1 pirate multicart along with a bunch of other titles such as Dr Mario and Pac Man. I believe there was also a standalone version released but I’ve yet to find that. I recently found and bought this copy on ebay.

I show some gameplay in colour on my backlit AGS-101 because it’s easier to film but I also do a little demo of the game running on my original, oldschool Game Boy.

Thanks for watching!

  1. Obviously you've never heard the Crazy Bus title theme.

  2. The pictures were taken from the Sega Saturn version of Sonic 3D Blast.

  3. That horrible music that played right at the beginning of the game was the title screen music for Sonic and Knuckles.

  4. Yea, my favorite game! Nah, I think sonic 3d blast 4 was my fave.

  5. There's not much point. It's easier just to use an emulator on PC and capture the footage directly to HDD. It also produces far better image quality.
The reason I use neither of these techniques is because I want to show the software running on the original hardware. It gives a better idea of how it looks in real life and allows me to share the experience in real-time.

  6. Can anyone tell me a little about these games, I have one but it has 27 games in one.

  7. That music is horrific, it shouldn't even be legal to put that music on that bootleg game lol…

  8. Very impressive for what is essentially a homebrew Sonic game for another console.

  9. How do you find these? I've looked all over and cannot find any >_>

  10. Forget it now, it's really an horrible pirate game.

  11. Do you really want to waste your money with this chinese poop ?

  12. I would want one. Mostly to say I have it. Only so many do.

  13. Sonic on a classic Game Boy. That's just wrong.

  14. It's funny because the music is Sonic music in slow mode and kinda bad a bit, but I can hear angel island on the 1st level.

  15. dude run y r u walking your supposed 2 make sonic run

  16. that music is amazing i want to download it extended version on mp3

  17. When I was around 5 or 6 I went to Turkey and found a pirated Gameboy advance cart with this game on it, needless to say, I never played this one very much.

  18. the music's horrible but this is still pretty neat 🙂

  19. I have a boxed copy of this game for sale if anyone is interested?

  20. I actually have Sonic 3D Blast 5 on a separate cart.  Seriously.

  21. Man thats music for my ears… Thanks for posting this vid. It brought me good memories.

  22. I had this back in the mid to late 90s.. Are you saying this was a bootleg only?

  23. This game was very common in Spain. I totally had this game growing up (it might have been that exact 32 in 1 cart too). It sucked horribly also haha

  24. (easier to see on Super Game Boy)

anyway only thing it has going for it is it looks surprisingly good for being a GB game. of course the sound is terrible but you can always just turn that off. the gameplay is another story, it looks horrible. spinball will kill most enemies, you shouldn't take damage during using it against 95% of enemies.

  25. The main theme sounds a little bit like the main theme to Sonic & Knuckles.

  26. Speaking of pirate game I've got pokemon heart gold 2 for Gameboy.

  27. How do i put the cheese in the oven? says:

graphics arnet that bad on the intro, they should of made it full motion video

  28. Music reminds me of some of my original experiences of pc games made in the mid to late 80's.

  29. They are pictures from Sonic 3D Blast on the Saturn but there was a Megadrive/Genises version.

  30. Sonic 3D Blast 5 Director's Cut Platinum Edition Starring Dante from the Devil May Cry Series

  31. Yeah, this is totally sonic 3d blats, youtube.
