Special Thanks to Eddie Gill. Without him this video would not have been possible.

11:12 all that maginificent and detailed presentation and their logo was made with Word Art…
6:02 haha, saw the domain was for sale and decided to snatch it. I was actually planning on creating a site that can page my actual beeper so this'll come in handy.
I see two big drawbacks. One is the limited availability of where this device would have worked and where it wouldn't have worked. Two by the time it would have been released in the market the Gameboy Color would have been on its way out the door. So in order for this to have worked properly one Nintendo would have needed their own private network globally and two the tech designers would have to have been ready to make this device compatible for the newer systems. Of course if they could have accomplished that it would have been a Nintendo game changer forever. It probably would have changed the gaming market as we know it today.
Low-key mad this didn't happen
Every gameboy's is Personalized…
Wow, Nintendo had the whole concept of a smartphone before smartphones really took off for the mass market, aside from Research In Motion's Blackberry.
Boy I wonder how differently things would have gone if this had been a thing at the time…
I initially thought this was going to be something like the Shark MX or whatever that thing was called, but this is much cooler.
Learn to pronounce "years". Please. Not "yeehr".

This is one of the most interesting videos I have seen in a big while, thank you very much! 🙂

This was ahead of its time. It would have been so revolutionary.
Its crazy how ahead of its time this could've been! Coming back 10 year's later down the line is proof of that!
I'd love to seen a DYKG on the Klonoa series!
There's an alternate universe where this became a thing and we are all now still using a modern version of pageboy
Fascinating video! I like these deep dives into topics I'm not familiar with.
400 characters a minute => 400 bytes per minute. Yeah no thanks
This while video I could only think of one thing: GS Ball in America. Sad day.
If they were able to pull off a deal. Then that could have been something that carried over to where even today they could have been getting royalties or something even though there isn't a need for an attachment.
Fascinating stuff. The sheer ambition and passion they had for this project is quite impressive. Truly ahead of it's time.
In 2003 I would have 100% wanted this.
So where can I get the music then?
Omg I’m surprised about the page boy I’d love to personally own it things are improved like the Wii U 3ds switch. Best regards Nikita.K
Are you telling me my cellphone is basically a GameBoy Color on steroids with this?
Hi, great vid as always!
just wondering if you are interested in doing a short review on this Lame Boy blaster?

Thank you so much 🙂
Damn, they nearly had the iphone a decade before the iphone.
holy shit.
Imagine pairing that up with the gameboy camera and making a smartphone
It's too bad it didn't come out at the time. With all the Japanese games that are region locked,
it would have been nice to have a US region locked game add-on.

Nintendo’s real reason: “if japan can have it, nobody can! Now pass me another orange spice gamecube!”
Wow!!! The iPhone 8 years early!
i want it now
I spend too much time on TikTok. You say "clock app" and I do not picture a literal clock
"Anytime, anywhere"? Well, Goody goody yum yum!
ironic how some of these features arent on the switch today
Page boy was not for Nintendo because it would only work in one country… and that was not Japan since they are happy with their own "can only be done in our country" stuff like Satelaview 😀
This is probably the dopest shit found from a prototype like this! So much can be traced back to this!
why are these game boy add-ons so interesting?
Nintendo just can't behind a product if its only for North America. Never mind all of the Japan exclusive products they make.
Funny enough, I heard about this add-on on a radio show on a classic rock radio show recently.
This would have been a game changer if it came out in the late 90s, but I'd wage it would have been astronomically expensive if it was able to deliver all those features. On top of that it would definitely require a monthly service fee – even Sega Channel was a paid service.
Or it might have been a huge flop. One of those "You guys aren't ready for that yet, but your kids are gonna love it" situations. Who knows!
This would of been so bad ass
yeah, i knew
Man Great Job Liam I love your work of investigations and such, keep it up man.

I have huge doubts that the Game Boy Color could have handled live video in the late 90s. Wish they had actually built this out so we could see one way or another.
Great
Idk man, seems kinda fake
